How the Novel NALU Micro-IPG PNS system redefines the Chronic Pain Treatment Paradigm

The Novel NALU Micro-IPG PNS system is a revolutionary new therapy that successfully and safely treats chronic pain of multiple origins such as : Chronic back Post-surgical pain, chronic pain of the back and buttocks from Cluneal Neuropathy, sacroiliac joint chronic pain, chronic shoulder pain as a result of  surgery or arthritis, chronic pain from knee surgery, and other intractable pain of multiple origins. The Nalu™ Neurostimulation System, is a battery-free, micro implantable pulse generator (mIPG) cleared by the FDA for  Peripheral Nerve Stimulation (PNS)  to treat  intractable chronic pain.

WHAT IS THE NEW NALU MICRO PERIPHERAL NERVE STIMULATION SYSTEM

Although peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS) for chronic pain has been available for many years, the technology never seemed to live up to the promise. Until now. Expert Pain PA recently incorporated a new technology from NALU Medical that has made PNS an ideal option for many patients suffering from chronic peripheral pain.

The new NALU Peripheral Nerve Stimulation System uses advanced microelectronics to create an extremely small, battery-free, micro-sizedimplantable pulse generator (IPG). Due to the small size of the IPG and the adaptability of the external components, the system allows a great deal of flexibility in targeting specific nerves. This means patients with challenging pain of the back, Buttock, Shoulder, Knee, Ankle, Sacroiliac Joint and other areas may finally have an option for sustained pain reduction or relief. Fortunately, now our patients can try the NALU PNS System on a temporary basis before committing to a permanent system. If it doesn’t work, the system can be removed with a simple procedure.

What is PNS (peripheral nerve stimulation)

PNS (peripheral nerve stimulation) may finally offer a long-term solution for your chronic pain. PNS Peripheral Neurostimulation is a proven drug-free pain management approach that uses mild electrical impulses to interrupt pain signals before they get to your brain. A small device called an implantable pulse generator (IPG) is placed underneath the skin and generates mild electrical pulses that are delivered through thin insulated wires called leads. These pulses may be delivered to  peripheral nerves that are associated with your pain. These impulses stimulate the targeted nerves and interrupt thebody’s pain signals as they travel to the brain.

How neurostimulation system can relieve your chronic pain

Chronic pain is pain that lasts more than a few months, and sometimes years. It can be there all the time or may come and go. This type of pain can be caused by many factors, including aging of bones and joints, injuries that have not healed properly, and peripheral nerve injury or inflammation. If conservative treatment options have failed, peripheral nerve stimulation may provide the relief you and your physician are searching for.The neurostimulation system may be able to reduce the pain by blocking the pain signals on the nerve that carries those signals to your brain. PNS may help reduce chronic pain in your shoulder, back, arm, leg, or foot.

Dr. Skaribas is working with neurostimulation for more than 20 years and is one of the most experienced physicians in the US.

Dr. Skaribas uses the NALU PNS system. During the procedure Dr. Skaribas, will choose the appropriate placement of  the tiny leads, depending upon your anatomy. This may be the relief you’ve been looking for If you suffer from chronic pain, you’ve probably tried a variety of pain relief options, including physical therapy, radiofrequency ablation, various surgical procedures, and over the counter and prescription drugs. You may also have tried other neurostimulation systems. If these options have not delivered the pain relief you need or interfered too much with your life, there is finally new hope. The novel NALU neurostimulation system may provide pain relief where other treatments have failed.
